Blocked Brook

Many people will remember the terrible floods of July 2007 which seriously flooded many homes in Weston-sub-Edge. A bypass system has been built which will help in the future but keeping Coombe Brook clear is vitally important.  Recently there was very heavy rain which swelled the brook that ran very fast moving debris which was in the brook upstream. Some  large logs (see pictures) collected together to form a dam causing the water to backup. Fortunately these were spotted and removed  before the brook overflowed. Could all those who have the brook running through or near their property ensure that the brook is kept clear and that debris/logs are not placed in or near the stream.
