Road Safety – Speeding: Church Street and Stratford Road
In the last 12 months parishioners will have noticed the installation and commissioning of two vehicle activated speed indicators in the village: one on Stratford Road and one on Church Street.
The Parish Council has installed these as a measure to obtain data with the objective of reducing the incidence of speeding traffic through the village.
The facility to record and download data has been commissioned and the results for the two months, September and October have been analysed.
63.9% of the traffic was over the national speed limit of 30 MPH on Stratford Road and 63.0% was over the national speed limit on Church Street.
Discussions are ongoing with Gloucester County Highways Dept. and the Police as to measures available to further improve the situation.
